Redpath Industrial Chic
Les Ensembliers have completed a three-floor, 6000-square-foot residence that unites three adjoining apartments in the Redpath Lofts. They successfully tackled the challenge of rethinking the initial dimensions and purpose of the three distinct units, resulting in a coherent new dwelling that embodies the owners' personality.
Les Ensembliers opted for two bold proposals, one vertical, one horizontal. The first is a central opening, the creation of an atrium that joins the three floors and brings a flow of natural light to the third level.
The second is a dynamic axis in the form of a raised floor, which joins the two stairs of the forth and the fifth levels, and the corridor that leads from the living room to the guest suite.
"We were able to take this project much further than what we had imagined at the start, thanks to the exceptional relationship that the clients allowed us to build with them"
The basic character of each of the zones was defined by a particular treatment of the space, in terms of the design of volumes, the use of materials and the selection of furniture.
A mix of periods and unique pieces combined create this sumptuous master suite.
"We thank our lucky stars for having found Les Ensembliers. So pleased are we with the results and the process, we’ve immediately begun working on a second home project together."
Everything is designed to highlight the impressive volume of the old industrial space. The kitchen
was reduced to the essentials: three minimalist islands, and all the storage and appliances hidden behind the lackered walls.
The residence is a fusion of the space of industrial origin and the personality of the inhabitants. The interior areas were built as a game of contrast between the gross industrial character and the taste for luxury and urban comfort.
